PhishGuard Software and Hardware Prerequisites (Low Level) for On-premise Deployment 


In this article, we are going to list all the perquisites that we have to prepare before and while running PhishGuard. We will mention the following:

  • Browser Compatibility
  • Software and Hardware Prerequisites (Operating System, Database, Software and Tools).

Browser Compatibility


PhishGuard supports the following browsers:

    Operating System

    PhishGuard can be deployed on the following operating systems

    Software and Tools

     The deployment process requires the following software / tool to be ready during deployment:

Description


MySQL Server 5.6 
Workbench
ODBC Connector.
The MySQL 5.6 and its utilities will be provided by PhishGuard team.
Notepad ++This tool is required to browse system configuration and logs. 
 
You are able to provide any similar alternative tools in case there is a restriction for Notepad++.

7-Zip (recommended) 
or
WinRAR
This tool is required to open PhishGuard release and internal library.
 
You are able to provide any similar alternative tools in case there is a restriction for 7-Zip.

Web Browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, IE, Microsoft Edge)The web browser is required for running the PhishGuard Server, and configuring the settings such as SMTP, Landing Pages and many other settings.
 
It is preferred to install Chrome for its computability and simplicity.

 

 

 

 


Deployment Package

PhishGuard delivery deployment team will provide the following package to you

MySQL Server and its other utilities will be installed to run the PhishGuard scripts.

Exchange Server SMTP Integration

 

The PhishGuard system requires connecting to Exchange server in order to send an email notification. There are some parameters that should be provided as following:

Exchange Server IP Address

IP Address for Exchange Server SMTP. For example, (152.x.x.x)

Exchange Server SMTP Port NumberDefault port number should be provided.

The default port is (25).

Email accountUser account should be provided to be used by PhishGuard product.
This account will just send emails to end users.
Account passwordThe password for the account should be provided in case using authentication process. There is no need for the password in case using anonymous account.

3333 port is the initial port for PhishGuard product using HTTP protocol.

The default port for MySQL database is 3306, the PhishGuard product is supporting any other port for security point of view.

 

SQLite
File

SQLite is in process database; therefore it does not need any port for listening and accepting new connections.

Exchange Server
SMTP Port
25

The default port for SMTP is 25, the client is able to give any other port for security point of view.

 


SSL Certificate


PhishGuard should be used by using HTTPS protocol for security point of view. You have to provide the following files in order to achieve SSL phase:

  • The certificate and key for the admin domain.
  • The certificate and key for phishing server page.
